An unfinished basement in Middleton, Wisconsin, was transformed to include space for a family room, wet bar, guest bedroom, bathroom, treadmill and storage.
Barnboard paneled accent walls add a rustic touch to the cozy gathering space and wet bar, highlighted by maple cabinetry in white icing and sheer arbor mist finishes. The wet bar has a built-in beverage station and quartz countertops, and the cozy family room features a window seat and ample storage. A guest bedroom with walk in closet and nearby bathroom finish the space. The layout includes a designated space for the treadmill and includes flex space (behind the couch) for play space or an expanded workout area.
Careful attention was paid to match the now finished lower level to the first floor. The project also included adding cubbies and painting in the mudroom, adding a cabinet in the broom closet, and refreshing the exterior aesthetic with stone, shakes, an accent band, new light fixtures and a new railing.
